I had to explain Loli God Requiem to my roommate last night. It's funny, he watches a shit ton of anime, not even just the mainstream ones either. He just isn't involved with the culture side of it AT ALL, which is the exact opposite of me lmao. I know so much otaku shit just by social osmosis.

How the fuck do you explain what a mesugaki is and why the song is a joke and not necessarily a fetish thing? Not even people absorbed in the culture get that sometimes. I had to liken it to yandere character archetypes and how one could be used for humor purposes.

i can tell how much healthier i am than my roommates by two simple facts:

1) how often i go shopping. i go and buy food about once a week. i actually eat quite a lot of food, including lots of fruits/veggies. these guys go maybe once a month, if that. a lot of their meals consist of fast food, or they don't eat at all.

2) how fast i go through soda. ANY time i buy grape soda, i'm the only one in the house that likes it. it takes two weeks for one of those to run out, while the Dr Pepper and Coke or whatever else is gone almost immediately. i'm talking like, TWO or THREE days immediately.

and on top of that, two of them vape extremely often unless they're at work. i honestly don't know how these guys are fucking surviving lol, you'd think they'd be shriveled up by now.

turns out i have 99 NPCs to create. that's quite a bit!

if i make 5 NPCs a week, which ideally i would want to make more but we'll see how that goes, then it will take about 20 weeks to finish all of them. and that point, we're in the home stretch. that's only 5 months. i'm still pretty confident i can get this game in a beta phase by the end of next year!
