i was relatively impressed with the recent witcher 4 unreal engine showcase. there was some good tech on display there, i like the voxel-based LOD approach a lot. there was no discernible stuttering and it appears they are pushing for the game to run at 60fps on console which is admirable. i couldn't see any frame skips but i don't have a great eye for that so it's possible there were still some.
what i DID notice is that there is still some noticeable ghosting at times with quick character movement, like this shot here. you can see it on the sword. this is different from the motion blur present in the rest of the image. ghosting is one of those things that is extremely noticeable to me and breaks immersion. hopefully there is some way to get rid of this, like disabling TAA or something for instance.
nintendo has done a HORRIBLE job at controlling the narrative of the switch 2. i hear random ass people complaining about $90 games or how they can just randomly decide to brick your console for no reason at all. like, IRL randos saying that. online, i still see tons of people complaining about having to pay money for frame rate and resolution enhancements, but the upgrades that do just that and only that are free. then you had people complaining about the price of mario kart world and then nintendo has the direct they say is going to change people's perception of the price, and it shows off like 1 new minor thing. nintendo content creators are carrying HARD and even they miss things pretty often.
mainly post about music and games, and share art from artists i like.
obviously i don't condone any sort of abuse/exploitation irl, go fuck yourself.
