Did anyone else go through an Explosions In The Sky phase as a teenager? Just me?
I remember hearing this song for the first time and not fully understanding what I heard, just knowing how truly different it sounded to me.
I haven't listened to it in at least a decade, maybe even more. It weighs a lot heavier now.

Finally mustered the strength to listen to the last Low Roar album. "House In The Woods." Like a house in the woods, its lyrics are lonely. Like a home in the woods, its soundscape is lively.
It takes an angel to write and sing like this. We got to borrow him for a little bit and that's a blessing. Rest in peace, Ryan.

Real men don't forget about their niggers that are struggling.
When you get a wife AND YOU WILL, when you get your house away from the city and YOU WILL. Never forget what you escaped and never forget what your friends are still struggling.
And do not normalize it like, back in my days I had to work 3 jobs and get 2 master degrees so I could save for a downpayment if I could do it YOU SHOULD DO IT.
We should try to make life easier for our men who are struggling not harder because you were fortunate enough to escaoe that condition.
