I've raised my minimum FPS in the Cyberpunk benchmark to above 60 whereas before it was 45. That's pretty much what I was looking for so, hell yeah
I know this is going to make shit like video editing way faster too.
I didn't do a before/after test with anything else, but I know it's going to help PSO2 also because that game REALLY loves when you have a lot of fast RAM. Back when I was running 2133MHz and got the 2666MHz ones, I saw a performance boost of, no joke, like 30 FPS in some areas. So Now I'm able to run at 3400MHz with this new CPU I wonder how much better performance will be. I'll still keep it locked to 90 FPS regardless lol, but having the overhead is nice.
We have life! The gamble paid off! Hell yeah! Special thanks to my roommate for letting me use his little display for testing here.
Alright, time to see if this mobo will work with the new cpu without an update. It straight up says it supports it on the box but the bios update was released after the board was, also it is a used mobo so that could go either way. If I do need an update I'm gonna have to find someone around here with a 12 or 13 gen.
Return to Silent Hill Movie Review (4/10)
It was NOT great. The set designs were actually really good, but they were pretty much the only part of the movie I liked. I enjoy the music but Yamaoka's score was meant for Silent Hill 2 and it feels wrong listening to it in this context.
The story was totally butchered, the monster designs were uninspired. They tried to add the cult story into the movie as well, and they just didn't have enough room for it.
Basically, they mixed Alessa's and some of Lisa's stories into Mary's. Then they went a step further and also turned Angela and Laura into parts of Mary and they gave Laura some weird fucking creepy baby thing. They made Laura like a creepy girl with the weird skipped frame movement for some reason. There is literally a shot that show's Mary's gravestone and it says "MARY ANGELA LAURA CRANE" like that's her full name lmao
I was legit laughing in the theater. Also like the whole row of people in front of us just left towards the end of the movie lol. Then they added some therapist for James that was a black lady, probably just so they could make sure they hit that identity quota. Eddie appeared for his one vomit scene and then was totally gone, so it's like... was Eddie a part of Mary like everyone else? WTF happened to Eddie? xD
Other than the set design, I will say one good thing the movie did is that it made the viewer unsure of Mary's current condition, but then instead of alluding to things the therapist chick just straight up says "Mary is dead, she's gone, James." In the game James just comes right out and says it at the very beginning.
Then they do this weird thing where like, James literally IS Pyramid Head instead of Pyramid Head being an actual entity. For some reason, Laura can see all the monsters too and Eddie sees Pyramid Head. Just flipped everything on its head lol. Maria doesn't tell James her name until the hospital section, she reaches out to make sure HE'S real instead of getting him to touch her to know she is real, and she straight up tells him "I look just like Mary don't I?"
Had me facepalming.
Also the reasons for everyone leaving the town are floods and ash, but then there's also a health crisis on the radio telling everyone to evacuate? Oh and about that ash, why is everyone so obsessed with Silent Hill having ash? IT'S NOT ASH BRO. IT'S JUST SNOW.
Anyway, I could keep going, but yeah, the story is a hollow shell of itself that makes no fucking sense whatsoever and is really retarded. Awesome sets, decent cinematography, acting was alright but honestly it did remind me a lot of Silent Hill 2's weirdness in the acting which was kind of nice. I wonder if it was done on purpose or not.
*Dont stare at it so much big bro...*
