That youtube does this is not as infuriating as people not saying anything and keep using it because "What else do we have lel".
@Loki allowing *normies
@hideki Made me watch this again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJWG9oITOl8
@hideki YouTube had channel customization?! Like old MySpace?
I get PeerTube isn't viable for everyone, but at this point anything is better.
@hideki Sadly I don't see most people switching, ever. Convenience is just more important. And uploading videos to multiple service is not even remotely convenient. Look at most popular YouTube alternative's (Odysee) selling point: "Just make an account we will upload your videos for you! You don't even have to use it!".
@person that's exactly the problem. The internet is the piece of crap it is because of most people's lazyness
@hideki I would try to use PeerTube more but most instances are utter garbage. Sometimes I don't even know what I am looking at, I wish more people actually tried like TILVids does.
@hideki Oh and Diode Zone is pretty decent, there are a few other ones too. But generally PeerTube instances kinda suck.
@hideki Few others are, you used to have direct messaging,channel comments (although Discussion and Community were sort of replacements for that).
The mass deletion of pre-G+ comments and the general lack of persistence of comment.E.g. some of my videos say 1 comment,I know what it was back in 2008 since a friend wrote it.However,I go to the page now and it's not actually capable of being displayed.
Additionally, the fact that they wanted your real fucking name and shit during the G+ transition.
@hideki
Does anyone still believe in the "Advertiser boycott"?
@LukeAlmighty @hideki I heard that most videos still have ads, but I don't know because I haven't used the actual YouTube front-end in years (either use Invidious, mps, or youtube-dl). It seems more like an excuse to also shove in Patreon and sponsors into their videos.
