@wolfie idk i really like the "deck" UI that mastodon offers, but laso have to say i am a fan of Tweetdeck when i am on Twitter, which has the same look.
In the end the issue of the UI is a moot point for me since i always end using my own frontend

For me it’s less the look and entirely the missing functionality as compared to akkoma. I like being able to easily hover over the “Reply to” and see what people said and trivially open entire threads without the view changing

@hideki I was about to ask how you even got as high up the list as you are at the moment. Then I noticed “Mainly gaming/nerd instance for people who value free speech.”, and of course huge swathes of Fedi hates free speech
@wolfie gaming and liberty trigger a lot of itch on certain fediverse circles.
Plus i have to say, the instance had content moderation problems a while back due to a massive influx of users, so from time to time some unsavory content was being posted.Fortunately those are resolved.
@hideki Sure, that’s going to happen from time to time with any public/open instance. I admit it’s part of why I don’t have and likely never will have open registrations

Though, to be fair it’s mostly because of how Twitter-like it is and the things the others have it doesn’t
