So I now run a modded Minecraft server.
The IP is: mc.gameliberty.club
Modpack: https://www.technicpack.net/modpack/king-of-engines.144431
@matrix Is online-mode set to true or false?
@sjw true
@matrix Ah, RIP.
@sjw I can't set it to false, because there is no way of verifying your identity on a modded server. I can't use Bukkit and a plugin, because it breaks mods.
@matrix Why do you need to verify the identity? TeamExtreme ran a server for years that didn't verify with Mojang until they shut down on Megumin's birthday least year without much issue.
Also, trying to go to their old website just proves my point about namecheap http://teamextrememc.com
@sjw
It does not have to be with Mojang.
There just needs to be a way to tell if the client connecting under a certain name is actually who they claim to be and using your Mojang account is the easiest and most care free.
@sjw
It's not the same thing, because the Mojang account is primarily there to verify that you actually bought the game, but I don't care about that.
I care that someone can't join under someone else's nick. Writing stuff for Minecraft isn't the same as writing a website plus I'm pretty sure that 3rd party login is even more work than just using your own.
