@diresock No, I mean in general. I believe ever since 1.13 vanilla started getting quite more demanding. You can see it quite a lot if you try running it on a weak CPU.

It is under microsoft now, so I doubt that more then 5 min of development time goes to optimalization.
They need to censor chat and add microtransactions instead.

@diresock I haven't looked into it but it's probably combination of poor optimization and more complex world generation and rendering.
There are mods that boost performance quite significantly so I'm guessing it mainly the former.
Here's 1.7.10 vs 1.13.2 vs 1.19.2 on my Exynos S22
