hmmm, there does actually seem a system to this

@matrix I learned them with pen and paper. I guess thats the advantage of doing it the oldschool way

@teto Probably yeah, but I'm crippled so when I tried that two years ago I gave up after like two weeks because it went too slow and was really exhausting.

@matrix I gave up after months of kanji torture. Also by hand on paper. It was just so boring.
I wish japs would just stick to kanas...

@teto yeah, chinese characters are technically more space efficient, but suck to learn and use.
Remembering The Kanji is supposedly a great book for learning kanji and it does seem to systematically break them down quite well, however it uses mnemonics to help you remember which I always found extremely cumbersome. We'll see how kanji goes if I ever get around to it.

@matrix after the 100th mnemonic you just get tired of it. You basically write a story book in your brain and then have to remember it before even properly using it. Not a fan
