It's that and due to the software. But the M1 Pro is really competent at video encoding and decoding so it's nice for editing video.
The new MacBook Pro's are absolutely insane. They have a solid gaming performance despite the games being emulated.

I'd like to see these papers. Do you have them? Do you have the names of the papers?
