I'm a bit skeptical of the 3D printing craze.
3D printers are an amazing prototyping tool. Just in few hours and for a few dollars, you can test out your designs. Something that previously would be much more expensive and time.
But for long term production deployment where durability is important, I'm not so sure.
Although some of the stuff being tested looks pretty cool, like melting metal dust with lasers into the desirable shapes.

@VD15 Like bro. What do we do when we grow too much radishes and we can't gather them fast enough?

@xyfdi The TikTok view count goes brrrrr too

@VD15 But maaan, you can't own land. That's, like, bad.

Bro, let's just build roads

@Majkatsu @amy @waifu @snacks @dyske @piggo @druid And for your husband, I can recommend some amazing "How it's made" kids books.

@blobyoumu @enigmatico @Jessica @papush@niu.moe @nekojanai @roka Mastodon isn't that resource heavy tbh. The main hog in it is transcoding all videos that aren't H264.

@blobyoumu @enigmatico @Jessica @papush@niu.moe @nekojanai @roka I know. I looked at it and it's pretty complicated and mainly quite a resource hog.

@nekojanai @Jessica @enigmatico @papush@niu.moe @roka What server are you on?

@death @dyske @snacks @waifu @piggo @amy @druid Yes, humiliate me more mommy

@Majkatsu @amy @waifu @snacks @dyske @piggo @druid I do that because jerk off threads are boring.

@nekojanai @Jessica @enigmatico @papush@niu.moe @roka Do smaller servers perform better? I'm on matrix.org and sending messages probably takes longer than email in more extreme cases.

@death @dyske @snacks @waifu @piggo @amy @druid That's true. We wouldn't be able to argue about dumb shit on the internet without it.

@Majkatsu @amy @waifu @snacks @dyske @piggo @druid If it is then let's compare it to one. Minecraft. Look at how many hours you have in your playthrough (tech modpack to be more closer to real life), divide it up into days (one Minecraft day is ten minutes, one night is too) and think about how much percent of the Minecraft day something took and how many days it too.

@death @dyske @snacks @waifu @piggo @amy @druid "I want less work and more time for creative endeavors so fuck all the infrastructure that enables me to that"

@druid @amy @waifu @snacks @dyske @piggo Bro, while what you are describing sounds awesome, you are extremely naive. Life isn't a survival game.

@igeljaeger Thanks for the info
