FOSS mobile OS FuriOS has been updated to version 13.0.8 The update includes battery management improvements, modem improvements, MMS improvements, and more. I was able to upgrade my FLX1 from 13.0.7 to 13.0.8 simply with a couple rounds of "sudo apt update" and then "sudo apt upgrade". I had no issues with my upgrade.

I am hopeful with RISC-V but I would be lying if I said my experience with a Hi-Five Unmatched has been silky smooth. Same goes for ARM64 with my Librem 5, Pinephone CE and RockPro64. ARM64 has come a long way though and so shall RISC-V.

This week's donation went to the LXQt desktop. It is a lightweight desktop that was born from the merger of LXDE and Razor-qt. It is currently available in around a couple dozen Linux and BSD distros. The code is licensed through a combo of GPLv2.0 and LGPLv2.1.

The project's main website is here:

The source code is available on Github:

You're welcome ! I think a combination of the init system as well as the network manager. Artix uses ConnMan by default where most VPN's seem to like NetworkManager or are made for it. It isn't as simple as just installing NetworkManager sadly but then also a bunch of work to configure it to work with the init and get rid of ConnMan. To be fair Alpine is in the same boat but they have a very good step by step guide to get NetworkManager setup and working.

One day I will have to spend some time and see if I can adapt that guide to Artix. Devuan doesn't really need this they work with the Flatpak of Proton VPN and usually work with the .deb install files for Proton and Mullvad. MX Linux gets bonus points as they also go out of their way to package Mullvad in their repos.

Battery life was the one hope I had for the FLX1 and it was the one thing I ws so relieved it excelled at when I got it. Gives me as good as an Android phone while running a more pure Linux distro.
