@pie no it doesn't
I actually got super distracted, I was supposed to have watched the next episode of #BreedersFX by now smh
And the light's still on and I'm sure it's annoying my roommate because it's 1:17 AM...ugh.
I can be slightly inconsiderate sometimes.
Okay enough with the #ADHD posts for now I guess
I don't think the Birdsite Monster acc is working (@ADHD_Alien@birdsite.monster)
@commandlinekid can you pls make a bot for this, if you can get it to pull and post the image files from Twitter? I'd greatly appreciate this.

ADHD bingo
I'm surprised by home many of these apply to me.
NOTE: People don't tell me that I'm lazy, but "Myself" tells "Me" that I'm lazy. It's just as bad.
i’ll probably continue to be poor and work minimum wage jobs for the rest of my life and that’s okay
@pantransautie Awesome! That's a great place to be.
Yo I need to write a review for #DevsFX when the show ends
@wabbster Oh wow! This used to happen to me before I started listening to music, radio, or podcasts while coding.
@realcaseyrollins Currently working on an HTML table. Randomly thought of a fact. Googled. Now I'm on Mastodon writing this toot. Gah.
Long boring ADHD post
This is super applicable, although I wasn't aware of all these things consciously, I've figured out how to deal with a lot of them:
> Prevent Frustration
I try to work with as little people in the room as possible. Humming, singing, and my new #FidgetCube helps, too. Moving (or, rarely, dancing), helps too. What I've found is, strange as it may sound, while studying in a classroom, pacing on a table provides the perfect amount of rush that I need.
> Create Interest
I make things interesting by making them funny; adding quips in my notes keeps me interested in them when I read them, as I love jokes and humor. For gamification, I pay attention to the grades I get on my homework (which I actually used to procrastinate in reading because I was afraid I didn't get a good grade). I'm actually realizing that if I apply myself, no matter how hard it may be, I'll see the end result eventually.
> Externalize
I've been doing this for a long time, finally personifying my internal and external characters as "me" (external) and "myself" (internal). Myself is a far harsher critic than Me.
Example:
* I get a bad grade *
Myself: See, this is why you should've studied more. This is all your fault for spending too much time with your friends.
Me: Nothing wrong with spending time with friends. Friends are more important than grades. Nothing I can do about the grade now, I just need to prioritize my time better, and study earlier so I can still hang out with my friends.

@pantransautie Man, I'm sorry. That's really hard to go through.
I'm finally getting through it by realizing that I won't be able to get the thing that it is that I want (in my case personally, a relationship) without taking risks. Even if I fail, I have a higher chance of success if I just try.
I can rarely focus on just one thing at a time; if I try, catchy music or super distracting thoughts will pop into my head and keep me from actually paying attention to what people are saying.
Strangely, it's easier for me to focus on someone (like if someone is talking) if I'm * not * looking at him or her at all. I suppose I'm stimulated by audio, and video is just distracting.
I've moved over to @realcaseyrollins for my private account
