@Camille I think you’re misrepresenting their point here, be that intentionally or unintentionally. What mewmew stated is that domestic violence is caused by mental issues more often than by sheer muscle force.

While this does mean that a lot of people who are engaging in domestic violence have had mental health issues (regardless of whether that is true or wrong), it does not imply that most people with mental health issues are also violent. Those two groups may have intersections, yes, but they’re most definitely not one and the same.

I believe that is a composition fallacy.

@mewmew @realcaseyrollins @alex

@Camille @realcaseyrollins @alex I'm arguing that the best way of dealing with male violence is increasing support systems for men instead of demonizing them
@Camille @realcaseyrollins @alex @nothingplanet the reason for that is not because they can get pregnant though

anyway this discussion is pointless, the other one we're having is more interesting though
@Camille @realcaseyrollins @alex Most men are not violent, and I don't think that restricting freedom is the best way to prevent crimes regardless of gender.
@Camille @realcaseyrollins @alex @nothingplanet is a woman who cannot get pregnant oppressed on the basis of reproductive capacity? :blobcatno:
@Camille @realcaseyrollins @alex lol you really don't understand how percentages work do you

@Camille @mewmew @alex @nothingplanet

On makeup: I am theorizing that women are afraid of backlash for not wearing makeup, so the wear makeup, but in reality they wouldn't experience a whole lot of backlash from men for not wearing makeup, but of course they don't know that because they continue to wear makeup, just like the other women. If I'm right on this, women's fear of getting backlash for no makeup is completely different than actual pressure from men to put it back on when they take it off.

Strength: my point is that this is not an average issue

@Camille @alex @nothingplanet I think it's fair to say that when we refer to "gender identity" we're talking about "sexual orientation"

@PajamaBiden2020 @alex @mewmew @realcaseyrollins

Looking at all those hair-sniffing videos Joe, I would say most of Epstein's girls would have been too old for you.

@MajorMike2020 @alex @mewmew @realcaseyrollins Mike you dirty bastard, how dare you bring Epstein into this. First of all, you shouldn't even be talking about this. Second of all, he wasn't your friend. He had it coming, though, all those years. Absolutely tragic, horrible for the nation. But sometimes when I'm really horny, I regret that maybe I should have taken him up on a trip to his island.

@mewmew @alex I still think it's more likely that a man would attack a woman than a woman to attack a man due to the average strength deficit tho.

@alex @realcaseyrollins or murders, yeah

you can spin this data in a lot of ways, I think drawing the conclusion "women are oppressed because they are weaker" is a bit of a jump from the data which is "women are more likely than men to be murdered by a romantic partner"

@alex @mewmew @realcaseyrollins So unfortunate that my friend Jeffrey decided to take his own life in the way that he did. Very unfortunate, but he was clearly a troubled man.
