What a load of bollocks. I work with loads of women who don't wear makeup (and I'm not talking using natural looking makeup) they just keep themselves well groomed like the blokes.
Maybe it's a benefit of being an engineer, nobody gives a shit.

@mewmew @realcaseyrollins @nothingplanet I think you may be underestimating yourself. Arm wrestle with some women you know, just give it a try. It's possible you're right, but it would be rare. There is a significant difference between the sexes, even at the edges.

@alex Most men would be fine if women stopped wearing makeup, women compete among themselves. The beauty magazines are not selling to men, women like to feel pretty and making themselves up is a way to do that. If they don't want to, they can literally just not, no one will talk badly of them except other women because they're all catty bitches, and absolute worst case scenario they don't get complimented as often. But dear fucking God how dare we put any responsibility for the gross beauty industry on literally the only demographic that cares about the beauty industry. @realcaseyrollins @nothingplanet
On makeup: Makeup isn't oppressive, but the culture surrounding it certainly can be. I am not quite sure if women would be viewed as "freaks" if they don't wear makeup...but likely they continue to wear makeup (even if they don't like it) because they are afraid of backlash if they don't...which is a different issue altogether...
On strength: Women being physically weaker leaves them vulnerable to physical attacks; the cowardly (who are really the only ones who will attack people anyways) will only attack people who are weaker than them. Women don't attack men as often as men attack women and that's probably because they know they probably get tossed around and beat up.
Women spend hours putting on makeup and wearing sexualized clothing like high heels because they are positioned as lowly people in society
Err… not every woman does this.
