In a world of empty corporate gestures, Lego just donated $4 million to anti-racist charities. They also pulled all advertising for police-related Lego sets.

@realcaseyrollins @sim @_p Have you seen the Candace Owens statement? I don't agree with all of it, but most of it I do and it gets to this kinda ... groupthink mentality, right? Biden and every politician expects black America to vote unified ... but trapping people in a bloc, because of a common history to oppression, and not due to choice or other socioeconomic factors .. does put ideas about self identity in a cage

@realcaseyrollins *spits out drink* AS THEIR GENDER?! :ablobfoxdundundunowo4:

And in cases where what we have going on now? search out voices that have real working answers. Like Daryl Davis.
@milo @_p @realcaseyrollins Yeah. That's why you gotta find the other outcasts, see if they are more accepting. Until you find your friends who do.
@milo @_p @realcaseyrollins Yeah, they can change over time. I think that it is important to be selective with this but it is also important to listen to those you are close to. Give them that space to have their opinions, to voice their needs and preferences. All the good stuff that we forget to check in with people on or take for granted. People need that space to be themselves.
@milo @_p @realcaseyrollins I wonder what things would be like if all societal norms were crazy.
@milo @realcaseyrollins @_p Yeah, what is there a comparison for? Also, what if your reaction is normal but other people make it out to be a crazy reaction?
@sim

>Stop questioning authority
>become one with the hive
>no? ok whuite supremacist bigot, we're cancelling you.

damned if you do, damned if you don't :(

@realcaseyrollins @_p
@realcaseyrollins @_p @milo Yeah, I'm full of deep questions. Still figuring out whether it is a blessing or a curse. It's not going to make me popular, so I guess it's a good thing I'm not missing out as I've never been popular.

Yeah. How many are them can be explained by how humans are hardwired? The more I look at how I respond, the more it makes sense given my own experiences rather than being something wrong with my brain. Like how else do we expect brains to react to trauma?
@sim @_p @realcaseyrollins and it's also important to at least hear people out after a period of time, because either information changes or beliefs become invalid.
@milo @_p @realcaseyrollins Yeah. This is why it is important to be able to re-examine your beliefs every so often, so that you can find out which ones are working for you to keep and which ones aren't, so that you can either tweak them or discard them in favour of something else.
Never say "could it get worse"

A few months ago I was like "could my life get any worse" and then we got coronavirus. A month ago I'm like "I doubt 2020 could get any worse" and now look where we are
