Neckbeard died so sorry if that account ghost posts later lol
i'd probably say a bit of both, i dont think the concept of a karen is new, however i think that a bunch of factors have made more of them, more noticeable, louder and more extreme.
As much as certain parts of the web rag on them and they are generally disliked in actual reality, the sort of entitlement that karens have is encouraged in media and by the people around them
big corona made a lot more of the general public online and since 'karens' are loud by nature, more of them made themselves seen, and more people could see them
theres probably also something about a general generational shift into self entitlement, laziness and a lack of empathy and patience, since 'karens' are usually 30-50ish we'll see whether or not that is true in the next 10 years as the next major set of people age into similar situations, or if they dont
it'll be a similar kind of interesting to see how the 'soyboy' changes, whether they become more prevalent and how they change too

@realcaseyrollins @lnxw37a2 shebang has said it well on a post above. In the end, Unix in every pocket, all over the planet. But a compromissed one, as Android has lots of problems. Newer versions are for people consuming new devices on a contstant consumerism cycle.

We don’t need that. The devices have great hardware but oh so crappy op systems.

uspol, Fox News' role in moving the GOP farther to the right

It's funny, I wonder what the next generation is gonna be like, ideologically. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the left, right and center.

I'd expect the left and right to continue to become more extreme, but many of the mainstream conservatives and classical liberals will join to create a centrist force.

The left has gone radical with progressivism. Us right-wingers have done little better, going from conservatism to alt-rght extremists.

was his generation's . When he came on the scene, he was viewed as kinda radical or crazy. But nearing the end of his show, he was ideologically a mainstream conservative when you look at the right-wing landscape. took his place. similarly, he's definitely a firebrand, borderline alt-right, as I have said. But what will our children think of him? Will they think he's just typical, mainstream conservative ideologue, like I did with ? Time will tell, I suppose

shouldn't fire . They'd die the instant they do.

I agree that he doesn't fit very well on the network. They should build around him instead.

I view Tucker as borderline alt-right. Not necessarily drawing some of the same conclusions they do, but definitely going along with many of their talking points. Maybe bringing in some edgier commentators could give them a lil boost

Let's face it, nobody cares about what their other commentators have to say. Check the view counts, they don't lie.

's monologues consistently get 1, maybe 2 million views. Not bad when you consider that he does on like every night and they're only getting longer

@shebang @realcaseyrollins There should be an actual GNU+Linux distro for phones and not some shitty OS that happens to use the Linux kernel.

@realcaseyrollins I kept on hearing this term and didn't know what it really meant until I looked it up just now.

From my experience, these women are usually in managerial (usually general or regional) positions. I guess they get their stubborn and rudeness from working these types of jobs while also raising children since most of them appear to be divorced or had children out of wedlock.

I think their rudeness towards low-wage workers comes from them dealing with shitty-employees themselves, so they expect cashiers, janitors, etc. to be the bottom of the barrel. I noticed that they are especially rude to men. I guess they assume that men won't take them seriously especially if they're their bosses/managers.

Honestly, feminism and the destruction of the nuclear family are the problem. We have too many divorces and mothers working full-time managerial jobs.

Fuck it. I am just going to bite the bullet and do something I have been thinking about doing for a while. Procrastination is pointless.
@realcaseyrollins hmm. I don't think they are a new phenomena, but their antics are certainly more noticeable now due to the covid lockdown. With fewer places to frequent, fewer opportunities to have social interactions to stimulate their minds or make them feel important & wanted or valued, their psychosis explodes when stores are finally able to open up after the pandemic. That's why there's a flood of them in video rn.

They seem to be baby-boomer aged, slightly upper class women unaccustomed to change or not getting their way. Perhaps lives lived without real struggle have made them fragile & they lash out at minor inconveniences.
"I'm correct & just & above the plebians so I will rant at them until I get my way, or obtain my stimulant fix with conflict".

They take frustration out on low wage workers bc in the Karen's mind she is "above it all" & lives in a first world country that should be civilized (aka waiting on her every need...)
