@Mr_NutterButter It's the lore of my three boy OCs! My main OC Velnohs (the one in my pfp) was born into a clan of swordmen, The Nero, who house a vital relic used for the balance and vitality of three connected realms. Those being the Light, Mortal, and Demon realms.
The swordmen can't use the dark magic needed to stabilize the relic and only a guardian born from one of the royal families is able to wield it, that being Velnohs. He is to be sacrificed to the relic when he gets older. But there is outside interference and he gets kidnapped from the clan. Since the guardian has gone missing, the three realms start to fall apart as consequence from the unstable relic and other various sources of interference with the ritual.
I started it last year and kept writing and writing. It's already 350+ pages and I realized it's pretty much a damn mini book at this point. I'm nowhere close to ending it so I expect another 300+ pages.
I've been writing a book and using a Google doc to keep it synced between all my devices but since it's Google, I was afraid they will steal my book or peek into it lmao
So I wondered if there was a privacy focused document editor similar to it. I just found that there is Skiff. https://skiff.com/
It's relatively new and I hadn't heard of it before. They're offering an entire suite to compete against Google's, while having encryption and being open source. It's also free!
Their Pages (Docs alternative) is looking really good with only a native "search and replace" feature missing to make it a near 1:1 replacement for me. It does work differently from Docs in the fact it doesn't have a document outline but you can add sections as separate pages to break up whatever it is you're writing.
I'm going to convert my entire book (350+ pages) into their Pages suite now. I'm extremely impressed by what they are offering.
I'm also looking to completely replace my Google Drive game mods repository with Skiff's Drive but I'm having an issue with the link sharing. I've contacted their support about it, so I hope to hear back soon. The support is also really fast and they were able to completely fix another issue I had with the email today.
Their payment plans for more storage are also extremely cheap imo. You do get 10gb of free storage, just like Google.
I'm looking into a subscription even after just using it for free today. I've always wanted something like this to store valuable files in case my computer dies and even extra backup if my external storage dies too. I think supporting a project like this is worth it.
I just wanted to share Skiff here because it could be useful for people that want to ditch Google.
