I've had a job before that had shit like this and it didn't create any form of hostility between colleagues, but it sure as fucking hell made management a million times more annoying when you fell 2 points below whatever stupid arbitrary threshold they had declared the average and made you sign a faggy "i'll promise I won't be a bad boy and I'll improve my metrics".
God damn I want to bomb that place.

It is a cursed idea, that you can select artificial metrics, make them public, and make people compete for that particular metric in order to get a slight increase in pay and recognition of colleagues.
The problem is, that it's a stupid idea. It ruines relationships, makes people play dirty, and draws atention away from the job itself.
