@NotImportant @Suzu The market for Motherlikes is probably saturated at this point. Your game will just be drowning in the endless sea of Earthbound-like meta RPGs.

I'd say that a Paper Mario clone would be the better choice, since Bug Fables seemed to open the gates for games like that.

@PurpCat @djsumdog @suquili @Turkleton @WhiteJihadJaws Literally the only good thing to come out of the Twitter buyout was that it exposed how much of a fraud Elon Musk is. Before that, most of the people criticizing Elon Musk were far-leftists and flat-earthers.

@Suzu Why are people still making Undertale/Mother clones?

@djsumdog @suquili @Turkleton @WhiteJihadJaws I remember signing up here almost four years ago, and it being a breath of fresh-air compared to 8chan. It was much more laid-back and open-minded because I was expecting most of the freeze peach side of the Fedi being people ranting about Jews and race-mixing 24/7. Sure there were some of those people there, but it wasn't a complete echo-chamber. I had a bunch of people from various backgrounds, political views, and interests following me.

Now, I'd argue that this place is even worse than most imageboards. At least on an imageboard, if I don't want to talk about politics and current events at the moment, I can easily go on one of the tech or video game boards. Sure, some of the political shit would naturally bleed in, but it wasn't as bad. On the fedi, there is no-escape unless you create a massive blocklist/mutelist. And you can't even make an unpopular opinion anymore without being dogpiled. Also, complete anonymity means that posts are judged by the content and not the user, so you don't have to worry about building positive or negative reputation about yourself.

Maybe my experience on here would've been better if I never talked about politics on here, and instead focused on gamedev, but I signed up during the middle of the George Floyd riots and the biggest medical psyop in the history of the world, I couldn't help it.

If you want something more like the old Fedi, you could try Nostr. The crypto begging has died down somewhat, but it's still a bit of a right-libertarian echo-chamber. Sure, Nostr is technically part of the Fedi thanks to the mostr.pub bridge, but I don't see many of the Poast-types going after the Nostr accounts.

The reason The Powers That Should Not Be so strongly want a central bank is because it greatly reduces the constraints on what they can spend money on. A fiat currency system does the same. Both together synergistically amplify the effect. But the benefits to the ruling class are even more greatly amplified if the nation's currency is the pre-eminent world reserve currency.

And that's all you really need to know about why all of those things are so strongly defended by the ruling class and their sycophants.

_The Truth About CO2_

"CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere, and human beings are responsible for 3% of that 0.04%."

Australian broadcaster, Alan Jones, wipes the floor with a panel of smug climate zealots.

"It's like saying: 'There's a granule of sugar on the Harbour Bridge. Clean the bridge up, it's dirty'."

So my baby niece's favorite plushie is a Kirby doll and she loves books, so I decided to look to see if there were any Kirby books for little kids, but they are all Japanese-only, except for It's Kirby Time which is only available as read-alongs on YouTube.

You'd expect that a franchise that is a cash-cow for merchandise would have children's books in English, but apparently not.

Just this week, anti-GloboHomo Slovak prime minister Robert Fico is shot and a hair's breadth away from being killed, then the helicopter of Iranian anti-GloboHomo president Ebrahim Raisi crashes, nothing fishy going on here...

@djsumdog Pieville is worse than Poast. You could be talking about PB&J and they will somehow make the conversation about Jews.

The funny thing about this is Wikipedia is increasingly going to become speculative fiction as its sources turn to dead links.

Anyone have any suggestions for good domain name providers who might support a dynamic DNS script? I obviously need something new now that godaddy decided to shut down their API...

And for people about to go "wow you're so stupid didn't you know godaddy is shit", I started using them 20 year ago and they were basically the first guys I found and they worked ok for me for most of those 20 years...
