1) They count people who die "with covid" rather than people who die "from covid"
2) They fail to account for the massive drop in flu deaths (i.e. corona has basically replaced flu in its niche). Reasonable accounting would take the max flu deaths in the last 20 years (i.e. assume it's a bad flu year) and subtract that from the covid deaths (people dying "from covid") to see the actual damage caused by covid
