Or are we in so deep at this point it's fucking 9/11; where people are still taking of their shoes due to a FBI operation to make a fucking shoebomber and believe jet fuel brought down two skyscrapers?
The damage of this continual propaganda is that people have invested a huge sunk cost. Leaving it is like leaving a faith, a religion and the entire community around it.

@applejack For small, personal websites, PHP does get the job done if you need simple server side scripting, but I don't think it should be used for large projects.
People seem to hate JS due to causing all the cancer of the modern web: live analytics, trackers, pop-up ads, unnecessary animations. Also, the fact that it's now used in desktop applications makes much sense as people writing software as Microsoft Word documents using VB macros.
@Aether A Node.JS chat room could probably work better than a PHP+AJAX one.
