re: Google's trying to DRM the internet, and we have to make sure they fail

I feel like this debacle is overblown. No sane browser will adopt this. Chrome users get what they signed up for (being absolutely shat on by Google).
Stop using Chrome as your daily driver.
Google proposed adding DRM to Chrome, which will be used to stop ad blockers, privacy tools, password plugins, accessibility/reader modes.
The only way to stop Google’s Chrome from wrecking the internet like Internet Explorer did for many year is to switch to a NOT chromium-based browser as soon as possible for your day to day. You’ve got Safari and Firefox as your choices.
I know you’ll have to use Chrome sometimes because it’s already happening.
@lanodan What if they have one alongside an IRC channel or whatever?
@Pawlicker You should get one of these.
@ArdainianRight I'm not against that. Hopefully, you aren't prone to PTSD.

I know. Which is why I'm afraid that environmentalism is going to be the excuse to crackdown on seasteading. Though one based on a right-wing religious cult (which you suggested a while back) would probably be even worse because people tend to associate cults with terrorism these days, given them a better excuse to take them over.
Either way, cops are inefficient, in my opinion. It takes time for them to get all the way to the store and robberies and shoplifting can be quick depending on the situation. It's better to hire an armed guard to be at the place at all times, or allow conceal carry at the store. And if you think killing shoplifters is too far, you don't have to be lethal, tazing or rubber bullets could get them to stop.
By not complying with your bullshit, that's how.
