@sim yeah i never understood the "Fedi is dead" stuff
like, not only is it objectively and measurably false, but it also doesnt really matter that much?
I advocate every single user being their own admin on their instance to get around fediblock shit
Well, vaccinated people spread the virus as much as non-vaccinated. There is now a lot of voices (including health officials) that say current vaccine does not work for latest variant anymore, and for others it wears out fast anyway.
But despite all that, we have run into situation where anyone challenging the official narrative is stigmatized, ridiculed and put in the shadow. This is not what science is about. It is about doubting and it is about challanging the status quo. Silencing people who have questions, doubts or even showing data that contradicts official narrative is anti-science IMO. Exactly this actions in media (not to mention secrecy surrounding deals between governments and pharma companies producing vaccines), create very lucrative surface for all those that want to exploit this situation of doubt and loss of trust for political or financial gain spreading more missinformation (equally those supporting official narrative use it for their gain too).
If the whole situation would be more transparent as we globally struggle with a big health issue, and every side would have possibility to have public discourse to find best possible solution to the situation, there would for sure be more people willing to get vaccinated, or if vaccines appear to be weak solution, try to find a better approach. Together, through civilized, transparent, science based process.
