@graf @ademan >Poast is a federated social network that uses independently hosted servers, which allows users to post in the main forum or create their own. It functions similarly to Mastodon.

And these fucking idiots are supposed to be internet-savvy? "durr what version of poast r u running?" How do they manage to not choke to death on their own tongues is beyond me.

Currently spending my free time in the wagecage arguing with retards online who are convinced voting harder makes stuff happen not realizing they're part of the problem.

Just to let everyone know, my libertarian/voluntaryist/anarchist views come from me being a paranoid conspiracy theorist and knowing about the shadow government and that elections won't fix anything. I can agree that some libertarians are cringe. I'm really not a fan of weed culture, hippies, etc. I just feel like there is no other option after being exposed to the truth.

How do status/object ids work in Pleroma, when it comes to ordering? If I go to /api/v1/timelines/public, I get next and previous links in the response on both Pleroma and Mastodon, but Mastodon returns numeric ids that appear to be in order (are they?). I can use min_id and since_id using numeric IDs, and order by IDs to get the earliest/latest.

Pleroma uses alpha-numeric strings. Someone was telling me they’re encoded in base64 or sth and aren’t random, but that doesn’t seem to be the case (are they encoded? What are they encoded in?)

The year is 3423. Storage is limited. Digital archivists convene to solve the pending crisis. However, they spend the entire conference arguing to keep 4.5 exbibytes of __MACOSX directories.

Reality: Frost season growing longer across Australia
"experts were sure would be less frosts in Australia, but... the frost season is actually growing across southern Australia, not shrinking. And in some places by an astonishing 40 extra days a year."
