We’ve now published the details of the security issues which we addressed in Monday’s coordinated security release of Matrix: read all about Project Hydra at matrix.org/blog/2025/08/projec and please upgrade your servers and rooms where applicable.

Apparently, Windows 7 doesn't work with VirtualBox folder sharing.

Fuck it. I'm just going to buy a used Windows laptop to compile a Windows port of my game.

Though ideally, I would like to use something either with Windows 7, 8, or maybe even 10 (just to know that it works on older versions of Windows), but every used laptop I come across has Windows 11 on it. Though this is to be expected when Microsoft made upgrading to the next Windows free.

Re Meyer, I'm about 80% sure at this point that what he was doing is explained under Quantized Inertia theory. Though I have strong suspicions that he himself did not understand it. If my suspicion is true, then that means what was before a search for a needle in an infinite haystack is now a matter of manipulating some equations that are found in publicly available papers.

Made the mistake of trying to discuss politics on Twitter and now I'm starting to understand why people hate it so much. Never used the block button so much before.

A refresher, if you encounter someone who tries to use the "fire in a crowded theater" doctrine to try to argue away the First Amendment:

The line, often quoted by censorship advocates, is from a 1919 Supreme Court opinion (Schenck v. US) by Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes. It de facto outlawed trolling.

It was later overturned in a 1969 case (Brandenberg v. Ohio), which severely limited the situations in which speech becomes actionable. It added litmus tests like "imminent", and "likelihood".

The "fire in a crowded theater" argument is not only NOT a law (it came from the judicial branch, not the legislative one), it's not even CASE LAW. It's nothing. A historical note. An error by the Supreme Court that they corrected 50 years later.

The First Amendment is part of the US Constitution. It is the very first change made to the Constitution, once they realized that the government needed to be explicitly constrained from infringing on human natural rights. It is the law of the land. Do not believe a misinformed (or politically biased) authoritarian who thinks a Constitutional amendment can be overruled by a erroneous deprecated court paper.

So it turns out that the reason why you aren't seeing that many restaurants switching to Beef Tallow, outside of Steak & Shake is that Steak & Shake actually trademarked "Beef Talllow Fries" which makes it harder for other companies to advertise the switch if they have also made it (or have been doing it before RFK's redpill drop).

This is actually awesome. Medical licensure is a massive racket and doctors are shitty drug dealers already so forget about the quality getting worse. What this will really do is give you the freedom to hire a doctor who will play ball with the way you want to be treated, e.g. Ivermectin perscription.

Central banks have one priority: keeping the government debt bubble alive.

Please do not strip your infants or toddlers in public. I don't care that they haven't developed a sense of modesty yet, nobody wants to see nude children. If you have to strip them, cover them up with a towel or a blanket.

Also, think about the possibility of a pedophile recording your child behind your back and now with AI they can turn that recording into literal child porn.

It’s becoming increasingly apparent that the Labour government are:

1. restricting individuals from growing their own food.

2. trying to grab the farmland that produces our food.

No government should ever do this. It’s fundamentally wrong.
