So, I decided to pick up Node.JS and plan on taking the certification exam because that's where the market seems to want right now, but when I looked at the website this is what would be on the exam.

Seriously, why do I need to learn this much? I thought Node was just simply a JS runtime that allows it to run server side, there is literally no reason for it to take this much to master.

Thanks to Covid, I no longer really believe in anthropogenic global warming, so I hope they’re happy 🤪

Meaningful cultural literacy requires being able to think and exist outside of the confines of Current Year, and while there may be a few works in other mediums which transcend the spirit of the age, in practice to be able to really break free requires reading books, especially classics. Sadly this means you're gonna have a rough time finding IRL companionship on this front pretty much anywhere. Cities have the advantage of the most people, so that would be an advantage in terms of finding a few intelligent weirdos, whereas rural areas give you the most room to just commune with nature and have inner peace to reflect on everything, and suburbia is somewhere in between. Really the most important thing is making the most of where you are to cultivate yourself, instead of engaging in retarded arguments online.

Male celibacy: I devote my life to my work pushing civilization forward. My children and lasting legacy are my inventions/discoveries.

Female celibacy: I don't need a man or kids. I'm going to live my life as an independent woman, and spend my time and money on what makes me happy like the latest iPhone and watching Netflix. God, why am I so depressed.

This is what you get for not holding your leaders accountable.

@ChristiJunior @tomjennings This is bucket of crabs BS. "Nooo! We can't go to space or build anything cool because some African kid is hungry." If we spend all our time trying to uplift the lowest dregs of humanity who stubbornly refuse to be uplifted, we ultimately become cynical and think everything is pointless when this inevitably fails. Some people and groups of people are failures through their own fault, and if they don't want to be helped, let them be and move on to other endeavors.

Unlike Google, F-Droid does not force developers to publicize their name or address information.

We understand that people have many reasons to develop under another name than their legal one and to keep their personal information private. And that what matters is the trust between user and developer, not private details of their lives.

For more information on how we designed F-Droid to protect your privacy, see f-droid.org/2022/02/28/no-user.

I was just about to post about "disability" having such a broad spectrum of classifications and handouts that somebody can use a labyrinth of legalese to get on the government cheese

Are 3D pens just 3D printers for poor people? I wonder if it is possible to make guns with these.

@genmaicha @thomholwerda Lunduke likes to dig into open source finances. He did a nice piece on the Linux Foundation a couple of years ago. Seems like he released a piece on Mozilla finances today, hence the knee jerk reaction here.

No idea why anyone would call him a nazi. He’s just a nerd with slight old tech nostalgia obsession from the looks of it.

@xianc78 @KryptoBlok What they really fear is something much simpler: that ordinary people will stop trusting them en masse. That’s the true source of their power. No need for alien spacecraft or advanced technologies. Just plain old faith in the legitimacy of institutions and a lack of curiosity about the character of those who control them.

@xianc78 Of course, if the gov has a monopoly on this tech, then literally God help us all...

@xianc78 This reminds me of an interesting leak-type thing about ufo tech I found a while ago. In a nutshell, it claimed that the reason the us gov is hiding the tech is because it would basically make anarcho-frontierism a reality - but at the expense of encryption, which would be rendered useless. The average schmoe could just weld together their own ufo and become Han Solo, never paying taxes again. (There was also something about immensely-powerful WMDs being made possible....)
