I luckily had some really strong double sided adhesive I used for the rubber feet for an OG a few years back that's still really good. I used it for the jewel to adhere it to the plastic instead and it's holding on there nice and tight. I do wish it was mechanically secured but I didn't want to spend another $30 for a jewel but it looks nice.

The issue was totally my fault though because I didn't know there was a plastic retainer in the shell that was blocking the abilty to plug in the jewel but it looks nice and it's sticking to the console

Some of the stuff you find on the cplusplus.com forum is actually embarassing. I'm still learning how this language works and even I can tell like 95% of the answers posted there are wrong.

There's this Youtube video where someone reads a thread on there and it's... a trip. I can't find it in my history but I vividly remember watching it thinking the entire time that the next gen of software engineers is fucking doomed.
