Today's progress with the space station. I was about to trash the main ring but was able to save it.
I spent almost all the weekend playing PSX classics, and to not make it go unproductive i made a little spacecraft for the space station scene.
Now i just need to figure out how to make it look that it's FAR, and the space station is there in the distance, because obviously the depth of field alone isn't going to cut it.
@Xalef Thanks, it will keep improving with the time until i see it as "good enough"
@Ghlighte Have not yet, i don't think it would look too different but i may try
@Ghlighte There's indeed some differences in the lighting and it seems to bring out more detail out of the model for some reason.
@Ghlighte you can see it here, left is cycles, right is eevee, that is not a displacement map but pure geometric displacement. I guess it has to do with the light bounces of cycles.
Maybe the lit areas look flat because the sun strenght is a bit stronger for cycles? i'll check when i get home.
@Ghlighte i have to say that bringing out more detail is a good thing of course, i would like it to look the same on eevee
@hideki@gameliberty.club @Ghlighte@kiwifarms.cc looking good! how do you add that glitter effect?
@mulmeyun @Ghlighte that's the "Glare" compositor node set in "Streaks"
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/compositing/types/filter/glare.html
@hideki@gameliberty.club @Ghlighte@kiwifarms.cc very cool! i'm gonna try it out
@hideki@gameliberty.club what game
@ew maybe!
@hideki rainbow RGB :p
@Xalef that, and i also may need to turn down the sun strenght a bit, yeah.
@harblinger aww thanks ![]()
Thinking that red may not be a good color for a space station
