@xianc78 you can make those kinds of dungeon crawlers in RPG Maker. usually it's reserved for more weird/surreal games though instead of "real" RPGs.
@beardalaxy Are you talking about the pseudo-3D dungeons? I'm just talking about the science fantasy setting.
@xianc78 yeah, the dungeons. that makes sense though lol. i can't think of any immediately off the top of my head. i'd check rpgmaker.net but they're down at the moment, experiencing some difficulties after their server host finally shut down after being on life support for years.
@beardalaxy Your high school/teenage years are kind of the worse time to work on personal projects, IMO because you don't realize how little you know about time management and the dedication it takes to work on them. I was making games back in high school too, but by my current standards, they look unfinished and broken. I even named them after their genres because they were all just practice games for something even bigger, which never happened.
My school didn't give that much homework (they were actually against that), but both of my parents were education advocates and wanted us to participate in extra-circular activities which while I enjoyed, drained me mentally.
@xianc78 for me, it was just that i always had new ideas that i wanted to work on so i'd just jump ship when a new idea struck my fancy. it's a problem a lot of creatives have and i've had that issue multiple times working on God's Disdain too, but i've just had to more or less push through and keep working on it because i knew if i stopped i'd feel super bad. but i'm glad i went through it because man, i'm proud of the end result.
