No reason to ever pay for a game, when devs don't respect you enough to actually let you play it.

@comfy @rasterman
I have a simple rule. I either buy the full game, or I don't buy it at all.

I don't mind buying a game, but bloody hell man...

I am still amazed just how kiked out the EA is about the sims. Sims 2 was a gem, and sims 3 tried to do something better, but to see them being unable to simply optimalize the game and release it in some reasonable price range is just unbelievable to me.

Sims 2 and 3 were held back by the 32 bit architexture, and they were too big for computers of the era, but now, after so many years, EA is releasing a microgame instead... :ablobheadshake:

@rasterman The worst part is TS3 and TS4 businesses don't even work right, TS3 needs very specific objects to function, and it's all tied to the objects and with the way the game is you'll never see anybody even if you do it in a hot spot. TS4 has arbitrary limits and home businesses don't work without mods or cheats.

How they could do it 20 years ago without thinking and then never be able to do it again is fucking crazy to me

*Guns will never be better then axes until they can cut trees all day without need to be reloaded.

@ChristiJunior @redmaple >colonise Africa >develop it >population grows >gtfo >watch it crumble >pay them to not die of hunger >majority r-strategists use money to reproduce more >more hunger, more gibs >repeat last few steps forever until the heat death of the universe We could be colonising space and fighting orcs right now. :peperly:

@SaltWraith @ChristiJunior @Publius @redmaple
Nothing says "you will own nothing and you will be happy" as well as: we need to stop earth from boiling us alive.

@Publius @redmaple The goal isn't to combat climate change or reduce pollution, it's to reduce living standards in Western countries. :facesofautism2:
@redmaple @ChristiJunior @Publius Environmentalism is maybe the most corrupted and warped cause. It's extremely frustrating because I do think that there are reasonable concerns with things like pollution, destruction of ecosystems and overproduction of stuff like plastic. The problem with environmentalism is that it's been jewed in to this gigantic nonsensical leftist death cult where they'll blame the west for everything while never touching actual threats to the environment like Africa and India because they're full of smelly brown people who are somehow beyond reproach even when they're the ones who care the least about the longterm sustainability of anything.

No, you cannot give AI context for everything. It is impossible.

You cannot give it context for real word physics, until it has a real manipulatuon world goal. You cannot give it real life manipulation goal, until it has a a working responsive body. You cannot let is make micro goals, until is understands importance of objects in the word. Object is a fluid term, depending on goals.

In short, AI learns better then any human ever will. Literaly, there will never be a man born smarter then AI. But it exists in a different universe then we do. Quite literaly. And the manipulations it can manifest in here are still just not to our liking yet.

@picandor @tengumatingpress @fiddle The whole "we hate our customers" approach is so absurd, and proves that Corporate Cultural Marxism is about ideology, not a misguided attempt to increase profits. No legitimate business strategy would involve actively alienating and even antagonizing your core audience. Sony is very lucky that PlayStation fanboys are some of the biggest simps on the planet, and therefore haven't truly started punishing Soyny yet.
