I remember when I was a kid, and I was playing RollerCastle Tycoon 2, and at the age of about 8, I understood expenses, investments, buisiness loans interest etc.
Because the math was clear. If you get the context of microeconomics ONCE, you will either get it, or not. (But I don't know what is the thing, that didn't snap for others.)
