Ubi's marketing hires the consultants who hire this woman with Ubi probably playing hands off when it comes to DEI requirements and check boxes. I do believe that whoever they hired to do consulting went about of their way to suggest this one person in particular, but Ubi most likely didn't go out of their way to hire her.
That said, considering how they brag about this game being so diverse and muh representation while they have some foot note of history nigger dressed up in samurai armor while Japanese people bow to it makes me me less inclined to believe it's Ubi being stupid and more like it's them being malicious.
