I am so tired of the "main character reading a book about the story that will be copied" trope, especially, since it does NOTHING but spoil the entire fucking plot. All for a stupid wink at the audience.

Well, there's also the question of if it's better to expose kids yourself under controlled environment, or if it's better to let school kids show dome scat they found.
I remember my parents watching american Pie and 40 days and 40 nights, while gaging my reaction. Because I guess they wanted to make sure I get the concept, contrary to many girls, who get pregnant at 13 and have no idea how it happened.

I’m at the point where I almost believe that the American space program didn’t land on the moon. At least NASA didn’t get there.
But I believe that The Nazis in NASA got them on the moon.
Basically if you want me to buy into this utopian, modernist fake that the 60’s space race was a wonderful, humankind effort where brilliant jews from europe led legions of negresses running the calculations - I’m gonna grimace and ask how the lander managed to have enough unused payload to bring up a 4-wheeler to drive around the minute people got sick of watching desert hopscotch in “space”
But if you tell me that the bulk of the most vital motive force behind the moon landing came from former reichsmann who lent their high-minded genius to seeing through a lifelong dream? That the greatest generation of slide-rule engineers at the freshly stropped, cutting edge of science joined hands with the smartest white guys from around the world to brutalize physics into submission? Yeah, I buy that one.
It’s funnier and it’s a little true when you realize “America” really ran out of speed once all those old guys died off. We’ve been relegated to sending RC cars and pretending that’s anywhere near as impressive and impactful as what they did.
