I don't think, that hierarchy is a thing, that is in any way not compatible with trust. On the contrary, trust can only be formed once both sides understand the expectations clearly.

But I guess now, we are getting into some weird philosophical debates.

A common trust is not a blind obedience. Obedience is one-sided. Trust is common.

I cannot trust a cat. And I doubt the cat would trust me.

So yeah. If I had to re-phrase loyality, I would call it common trust.
