Yes, it is sad, but games are no longer made for people like you. But that's not such a big deal once you get over the initial shock.
The industry is huge, and you have literally decades worth of back log anyway. And you're working now, so you won't be binching games that way anymore anyway.
Although, there is one advice I can give. Learn to play the games for everything they offer. Go on a side quest here and there, and try to not be satisfied with just "good enough". Once you do that, the hours for some games might unironically explode all of a sudden.

Btw, I watched it yesterday, and both Flash and Green lantern got worse deaths in my opinion.
Well, Wonder woman got the worst one. She died a complete failure as a result of being unable to reason. Batman just got a treat of a stupid speech with no punchline, but Wonderwoman's death was a punchline of its own.

This Batman's death happened in a multiverse fanfic. The death was boring and retarded in many ways. But.... Joel was way worse. It was more brutal, his death was not even payed for by a good old revenge. Instead, we got a story, where his daughter murdered hundreds of people for literally nothing.
Absolute waste.

For context, this is the live adaptation of the josei manga 'Sexy Tanaka-san', about a frumpy office lady who finds a new and rejuvenating life after discovering belly-dancing.
The content doesn't really matter however. What does matter is that apparently the studio was exceedingly difficult to work with for no real reason - to the point of completely changing the story and sabotaging the work - and refusing to consult with the author and making a faithful adaptation despite a verbal contract requiring them to do so. So what we're left with is this middle aged woman's life work, her passion project, essentially stolen from her, ruined by executives, slammed by critics, and culminating in a very public blowup against the studio and screenwriter followed by her suicide over the matter.
Something to consider the next time a shitty live action anime adaptation comes out, I suppose.
