Interesting, but I wonder if that's really the case. These people keep things like that on the downlow and the headline mentions specifically young people, who traditionally aren't informed about the details.

I think it has more to do with just how obnoxious and authoritative it became.

For example, gay people aren't oppressed anymore and one could argue it's even treated as somehow better by the media. Say something critical and you might lose your everything.
