Fermi paradox

If life isn't rare in the universe, and some life can can develop technology, why cannot we see any interstelar civilization? Is it possible some barrier causes all civilizations to go extinct?

I just tried watching second blade-runner again, and it is tragic... Because no matter how dark did they try to make the dystopean world, the reality already cought on.

For instance, in bladerunner, there is an AI made to love you.

In reality, there would be an AI that loves you, but REALY wants new Adidas shoes, and BTW, told Facebook everything about your habbits.

I love how all VPNs use as a marketing a CRIME of going around the license agreemends on Netflix, but do not consider, but not paying netflix or VPN is a much cheaper crime with the same result.
