20%ish of artists are really good

20%ish are really bad

The rest are in the middle, which means forgettable and they'll end up drawing Christmas cards or sculpting lawn figurines.

The lower 80% need some way to justify their existence, so they create this mystical aura of drama around artists.

Most people look at that and say, "Oh, useless effete eaters."

The few good artists tend not to be that way, but they are very few.

@bypel @ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty National Socialists do typically support identity-based destruction, either through forced relocation or killing. Fascist regimes generally target political dissidents but usually don't focus on going after particular identities. Mind you that doesn't necessarily make them good, but I consider the two groupings as different enough in ideology and behavior even though there's some clear overlap.
