It was painfully bad, but that was not the bad part. The bad part was the messaging.

1) Part of the movie was, that there are people who should never be alowed to run for an office in a democracy... nice.

2) The "democracy" was actually swayed by a literal mind-reading animal, who's opinion is more important then your self-interest. (jurnalist allegory is obvious)

3) The movie said, that Dumbledore's hearth is absolutely pure. That guy is one of the most Machiavellian people in fiction. He even trained a kid for 6 years in school as a "lamb to the slaughter" to use the exact words of the book.
