I don't think the point of vtubers is to do lots of commentary. It's just to be chill and wholesome mostly. Maybe talk to their audience.
From what I can tell from clips, they behave less like a host of a show, and more like they're spending time with their friends. Which is kinda fucked up when you realize you the viewer are the friend.

Depends a lot on how you define "better". I think he could make it less of a left-wing echo chamber, but it's very possible that this in itself doesn't qualify as better for you, as long as you still can't say gamer words and shout antisemitic stuff.

For now I wouldn't hope for anything better than 2014-2016 era. The firings are a good sign, but it doesn't guarantee anything.

If you were paying any attention, you would have known already that Jack Dorsey didn't like the censorship trajectory Twitter went in, but he had lost control of it a LOOONG time ago. It's hard to say for sure if Elon will truly have control, but so far the firings are a good sign. We'll just have to wait.
It's possible that he manages to create a politically neutral "moderation council", or it's possible he only manages to turn Twitter back to just pre-2016 era. Time will tell.
