i wouldn't support legalization unless it was preceded by a substantial education campaign and a ban on depictions in the media glamorizing it as a lifestyle

but i think it is a bit hypocritical to not want marijuana being used while also being totally fine with alcohol/tobacco being out there totally legal for 21+. way worse for you than weed.

when it comes to medicinal use though, i think it's a no-brainer and like i said, the literal doctors and pharmacists i know that study this kind of thing all agree it helps a lot of people that way and is much safer than actual prescriptions. if the alternative is there and it works it should be taken, and stuff like "anti-depressant" meds should only be used as a last resort.

most chronic dependents will say such things. it's so common there are numerous internet memes about it. attached results of image search for "weed is safe meme". I don't mean to imply you are the nasty type of person depicted in this image but you should be aware that this is how people of that sort are perceived. they are not so perceived without cause.

dude you're responding to my post, you don't get to decide what the topic at hand is. i'm saying it's much better to use than anything else and even if it does come with its issues i'd rather use medicinal marijuana than any of the shit they put me through during high school with my epilepsy. god dammit none of this talk technically follows the topic at hand which was just that my landlord is retarded xD

what, like the majority of doctors that agree? xD i mean we really shouldn't be pointing fingers toward doctors in general regardless though, considering how many said covid vaccines were totally safe. the difference here is that there was fuck all studies behind those and the docs were still recommending them and saying they were totally safe and would protect you against covid19 and the variants, whereas with medicinal marijuana there have been a LOT of studies done and some doctors would still rather prescribe three different anti-depressants that literally have "suicidal thoughts" as a side effect 🤡

they do this because weed is worse. it makes sense, and is only "🤡" if you go into it with the (incorrect) belief that weed is an acceptable substitute for actual modern medical treatment. the main use of medical marijuana is recreational and most people who represent it as managing pain would have their pain managed better using other techniques. but they just want to get high. because it is ineffective compared to other treatments, doctors will rarely prescribe it unless the client insists, as you have noticed.

you may be surprised to learn that, years ago, and before making any public statements like I am doing now, i did in fact read numerous studies on the topic. my conclusion was that there is no merit to the use of weed in the place of other medical substances, a belief that is, as you have noticed, shared by most doctors.

@fluffy @Mr_NutterButter @beardalaxy So weed is bad because it makes you dumb, lazy, paranoid, etc, is it still a humans right to use it Fluffy, just like it's their right to cut off their hand, or should they be barred from use? And don't say they should be barred because they'll do stupid things, or it'll increase the likelihood of them doing stupid things, or they'll be a drain on society or some shit, in a free society we accept that a person is allowed to choose to cripple themselves if they want, regardless of how much of a drain they will become, this is the consequence of a free society. So are you pro freedom, or anti freedom? You can be anti weed and still respect a persons right to use such "poison".

alcohol is worse than weed and that's not even up for debate. alcohol is only still legal because if it wasn't, the majority of the nation would still do it anyway but underground and way less safe and we'd have prohibition 2 which would also give us CIA 2 if we don't already have it. this is also why guns probably haven't been banned wholesale yet either. but weed has been outlawed in the US for a looong time over what was originally just sensationalized racism.
