@elftummy @Chuckie_ar_la people always shit on this and the "han solo" look but i gotta admit, i am not bothered in the slightest. if a girl is wearing something that she looks attractive in idgaf about "fashion trends" or whatever.

@mangeurdenuage @coolboymew at least with vrchat the users have a lot of control over the game. The entire game may not be "open source" but it's really easy to make whatever you want for it. Metaverse will probably be full of corpo spaces and avatars.

So the wedding was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Actually ended up staying for the whole thing. The people I didn't want to talk to minded their own business, the people I did want to talk to I did on my own accord. No drama. Thank the Lord for that.

@coolboymew @solidsanek so, to my understanding ( @mccree probably knows better than I do), the entire launcher and game is just transitioning to OW2. Think if you had purchased Splatoon 2 and then one day it just turned into Splatoon 3. At least, I believe that's what's happening.

Kind of sucks that they won't let you play the original anymore, for game preservation sake, but I can't imagine many people wanting to play it compared to OW2 unless it's complete dog shit.

@Corfiot @icedquinn oh yeah that's right, boom/shotgun mics use those more often. though i have seen them used in studios sometimes, the game grumps actually use shotgun mics (at least, they did, i haven't watched them in like 5 or 6 years so maybe they've changed them since then). i guess if you're having people talk directly in front of them they could be useful, but expensive as fuck and not really necessary for a youtube show lol.

people also use fuzzy filters for other mics too, but again i'm not really too sure on the specifics of why.

personally i hate the nylon ones because they obstruct your view if you have the microphone placed in an optimal spot. if you don't need to look at anything i guess it's fine but otherwise i'd much rather have foam boys.

i didn't get to play any vidya tonight because i had to update stuff and then move crap out of my ssd to my backup drive to install said updates ;_;

@Corfiot @icedquinn there are 3 kinds (at least, common kinds) of filters. nylon ones that go in front of the mic, foam ones that fit around the mic, and fuzzy ones that fit around the mic. i'm honestly not too sure when to use a fuzzy one vs a foam one but i do know that nylon and fuzz are generally used in studios whereas the foam ones are generally used for live stuff and general use. i just use the foam ones because they're a lot cheaper so i can give every unique person their own... it's more hygienic that way.
