@smugumin from some leaks we know there is probably a lot of procedural stuff going on. Not for generating entire maps but for changing the maps. I think they might be going for some emergent gameplay stuff.

@neko final fantasy is different because the game is completely different every time with just the same naming conventions for things.

People want half life 3 not necessarily for the gameplay, but for the story to be finished. I didn't like half life 2 personally so I don't really care that much but I think people just want the story to be finished. I can relate because I like kingdom hearts.....
