@Jens_Rasmussen @teto looking at the replies to OP it seems a lot of other people are getting this bug too, even people who have no checkmark, even people who are looking up random small towns.
@Jens_Rasmussen @teto so a few things here.
all you need to get a checkmark, and x premium, is to just pay for it. you could feasibly do this with a prepaid visa if you really wanted to.
the payments go through stripe, which is irish-american, not israeli.
now, if you want to have the special little thing that says your account is ID verified, that's when you have to go through au10tix and do all these extra steps. that just basically makes it so that people can't impersonate you.
however, it would seem that this account (isfjmocha) doesn't have that notice on their checkmark, meaning they never did the ID verification.
i think this might be a bug with google trends, because i just looked for my name and the same thing popped up, a random spike at 100 yesterday and then literally nothing else when changing the scope, not even on this day.

@RustyCrab dude i could go on for hours about all the stupid shit he's done and i've only known him for two years, it's insane. like, i have no idea how he's actually made it this far.
@RustyCrab my roommate will sometimes tell me the most crazy shit you've ever heard and i'm like "where did you hear that?" and he shows me an instagram reel of some guy spouting fake statistics while holding an unrelated book.
i've been trying to beat it into him that he actually needs to look up any dubious information he sees on the internet, but i'm beginning to think he really doesn't know what "dubious" even means.
@PurpCat this is a completely different issue lol but, i hadn't read into this at all before now. seems like it doesn't require identification or anything like that at all, it's basically just an "input your birthday" thing. then developers use that OS-level variable to see what age bracket you fall into.
not the worst thing in the world by far. i haven't watched the full video but i read through comments and it seems like a lot of people in there are genuinely freaked out it's identification stuff and just not a simple "put your age in this box" prompt. that's despite louis clearly saying what it is. i thought it was ID stuff before i went and actually just looked at the bill because of the pandemonium lol.

@WandererUber the problem with a lot of subs too is that they are just dubtitles these days, so you get mistranslation anyway and you may as well go with whatever sounds better if you don't actually understand the japanese. sometimes it's a little distracting now that i have been learning japanese and the subtitles clearly don't line up lmao.
i feel like i wouldn't have much issue with it reading it, especially because i've watched a lot of other cyberpunk stuff and it seems along those lines. i'm mainly interested in it because i'm kind of a slut for the genre xD
