my hunch was kind of correct, i was thinking they might go for the style of the "terrible fate" animation that came out forever ago.

i really wish we got to see more.

nintendo direct was a D rating there was a whole bunch of shit we have already seen this week, way too much of a focus on fucking wii sports resort thumb wrestling. we got an OoT remake confirmation for 2026 but basically nothing else about it. new xenoblade announced i guess but i don't really care about the series that much.

somehow the worst showcase of the entire week.

oh fuck the direct is right now i thought it was an hour from now i'm so glad i'm awake still

@Tamamo @japananon @Iffine @Minty at least cyberpunk has the benefit of having all that shit built into the dystopia in the first place. it kind of becomes parody when you try and glorify it. but i've no doubt they'll push it more with like a trans romance option or something.

it's witcher 4 that i'm more worried about. i'm still hopeful, maybe pointlessly so, but there is that worry that it's going to be pozzed to a certain degree. cdpr is pretty DEI infested but i do think they're still relatively smart. we'll have to see.

definitely not going to be buying either of them until reviews come out and i see what's up.

@technolyze @WandererUber @mischievoustomato i'm 30 years old and still don't understand bra sizes and i don't think i ever will

@japananon @Iffine @Minty 2 games! the first one is the better of the two but the second one is pretty damn good too, i had a great time playing both of them. if you've played hotline miami, it's got that kind of difficulty to it while also having like, a doom 2016 mission structure. the encounters are really hard and you die in one hit but you just get spawned back at the beginning of the encounter so it doesn't feel too punishing. i'd recommend them heavily, really fun games that are kind of overlooked.

@japananon @Iffine @Minty i was so upset with the ending i got man. did so much stuff with and for judy and talked about moving away and everything but because i didn't like panam, V decides to be all emo and not leave night city with judy after all. i'm still mad about that.

@ninja8tyu @freddie_the_fed there are clone sites (which i wouldn't trust) but yeah the original is toast

@japananon @Iffine @Minty the point i'm trying to get across isn't that cyberpunk can't be a dystopia, it's that Cyberpunk(tm) is forcibly bleak and i can feel that so it turns me off. idk maybe i'm just not expressing it properly. it's the difference between the actual setting and the story being told within it as well as the characters in said story.

you think tron would fit as the neutral on that sliding scale? its real world depiction is pretty much just ours but with higher technology than we currently have going on behind the scenes. it has factions tugging in both ways to make things either a utopia or a dystopia which i think is pretty interesting.

@japananon @Iffine @Minty haven't read it so i can't really confidently give an opinion on it.
