i honestly don't know HOW music works. i'm not a music major or anything like that. i never took music composition, i don't know much about music notation or anything like that. watching music youtube i'm often more lost than watching science youtube. i can't even read sheet music.

i know that music DOES work though, and i just write it how i feel like writing it. that's why i can't ever teach anyone how to play instruments, or how to sing. i don't know how it works. i just know that i can do it.
