@PunishedD the problem is that instead of the government serving the people, they serve themselves. So the people having more power would help mitigate that a little I think. Even if only a little bit, like just being able to petition a certain amount of votes in a certain way or something to prevent or overturn a bill. Nobody is going to make a private army and take out the government so this would be the next best thing probably.
@Ronnie21093 stuff like this has happened before and it will surely happen again. I don't know how people get these updates so fast, I'm usually like a year behind
@Shinobufag @LukeAlmighty you guys are crazy, even with how invested I was in FF16 it still took me 3 months to beat it
I think I just have a lot of things I really enjoy doing and so gaming only gets like 20 hrs a week max.

South Korea has some of the major prescriptions against a low birth rate that many boomer rightists talk about- porn is illegal, mandatory military service for all young men, 'HARD WORK' employment culture.
Despite all this, it has the lowest fertility rate in the world. What gives? I thought all we needed to 'save america' was to "kick the zoomer in the ass" and "get young men back to work"?

We really need to be able to vote on more things. We can vote for representatives but sometimes those reps will have some idea that is wildly different from the population, even on both sides of the political aisle. It would be cool if the people could repeal stuff with enough votes, or like for instance if the president could only veto something if 2/3 of the population wanted him to. Our government just has way too much power and not enough checks for it. I guarantee you that none of these ludicrous foreign spending bills would have made it through if the people had more say. There are things that a lot of people want or don't want that politicians are not willing to budge on and that's why we have to settle for voting for "the lesser of two evils."
