Just got back from The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
It was decent. Some funny moments, cool combat scenes. Acting was great. Good sound mixing.
Though, I grow tired of WW2 as a setting because it's always the exact same thing. It's based on a true story but there are obvious embellishments such as an apparent token character addition and the Nazis being comically evil at times. It's first and foremost a comedy movie so it makes sense, but the portrayal is always exactly the same. The English being these quick-witted jolly men and the Germans being complete scum. It just gets a little tiring. Though, if I wanted something with more nuance going to a Hollywood comedy movie isn't *ever* going to offer that.
There were some awkward shots and cuts, and in particular a good 10-15 minutes where it seems like they forgot all about the brightness of the film and it was sort of washed out and hard to see, even in a dark theater. I think the editing could have used a lot of work.
Still, I only paid $6 to see it and I feel like I got my money's worth. It was inoffensive and more or less a fun movie to watch.
I'll rate it 1 Danish man killing countless Nazis/10.
