Someone asked me if I was a furry a couple days ago and I was just like "well I don't really call myself one but other people might I guess." Then someone else in the group was like "damn so you like have a fursona and a fursuit and shit?" Had to explain that I just like the art and the characters.
This is why I don't call myself one. It's why I don't really call myself anything. Someone's idea of who you are will always be skewed by whatever their pre-conceived definition of a label is. I'd much rather just be beard. Kind of been that way my whole life even if it took a while for me to really understand why or apply it.
